Winter Skin SOS – Mirabel Clinic – Swindon

We aren’t out of the woods yet when it comes to the cold weather! Those freezing mornings, icy roads and biting winds are still upon us and it looks as if they won’t be easing up in the near future. The winter weather, along with central heating, log burners and hot showers or baths, can really impact the way our skin looks and feels. Our skin can become dehydrated, lines can appear and skin sagging can happen over time.

Reviving your skin and protecting it from environmental stresses is one of our passions, here at Mirabel Clinic in Swindon, as we all need a helping hand at times, to revitalise our complexions. Our non-surgical peels, device-led therapies and injectable procedures can target specific concerns or act holistically, for a replenished, youthful, and fresh-feeling skin appearance, any time of year.

We have a put together a summary of what we believe are our best treatments to help you get through the winter with radiance and even a glow.

Hydrating peels by Enerpeel®

Enerpeel® focuses on remodelling, restructuring, and rejuvenating your skin. These targeted peels can reduce age damage, pigmentation and can control skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and thread veins. They can help your skin to look more even toned and brighter, whilst improving hydration levels. The different Enerpeel® systems contain specific combinations of powerful, effective ingredients to target individual skin concerns. MSM is present in the entire range and this promotes normal healing and restricts chemicals which may cause irregular or abnormal healing. MSM also helps to calm the skin and reduce irritation, making your treatment experience much more comfortable.

Are Enerpeels® painful?

During your Enerpeel® procedure you will feel a mild to moderate stinging sensation. This will be monitored closely by your clinician. With our milder peels, there may be no sensation at all. If you are having a higher strength peel, you can expect a stinging sensation. However, the MSM contained within the full range of Enerpeels® means that any unpleasant or uncomfortable sensations are minimised.

You may experience some redness and peeling for a few days after your Enerpeel®, depending on which treatment you have chosen. You will need to protect your skin with a high-factor SPF cream and limit sun exposure (not difficult in winter, hence why we recommend peels in the cooler months). You’ll also need to refrain from using certain products such as Retinol, Glycolic acid, or any other products which exfoliate the skin.

ZO Red Carpet Peel

At Mirabel Clinic we have built on the strength of the in-clinic-only ZO Skin Health skincare range and offer the ZO Red Carpet Peel, which is suitable for most skin types and offers absolutely no downtime. The ZO Stimulator Peel is also known as the ‘red carpet’ peel and is a must for skin that is dull or feels rough, as it uses a unique combination of exfoliating ingredients to renew and revive the skin. Perfect for winter time, when the skin can become dry, flaky or congested and its important to minimise any downtime.

HydraFacial

If you are someone who shies away from treatments which can be uncomfortable or offer some significant downtime, you will love HydraFacial. HydraFacial is a globally-renowned, award-winning hydradermabrasion treatment, which is designed to combine a range of therapies in to one, skin detoxing, cleansing, exfoliating, brightening, extracting and hydrating treatment.

HydraFacial is suitable for all skin types, colours and concerns and can reveal clearer, smoother and younger-looking skin with no side-effects. How does HydraFacial work?

HydraFacial uses a unique and patented Vortex-Fusion delivery system to exfoliate, extract and hydrate the skin. BELOTERO® Revive injectable skin booster

BELOTERO® Revive is a next-generation, injectable hyaluronic acid skin booster which has been designed to rejuvenate the quality of the skin, without augmenting the facial features. BELOTERO® Revive is the perfect winter revival treatment for the skin, which offers early intervention to the signs of ageing and environmental stresses. The injectable substance contains hyaluronic acid and glycerol. When combined, these moisture boosting ingredients hydrate the skin from within, improving elasticity and firmness, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and reducing skin roughness, for a more radiant skin appearance.

Will BELOTERO® Revive be good for me?

If you have dehydrated skin which has lost its elasticity and firmness, or if you have those very first fine lines and superficial wrinkles and uneven pigmentation, BELOTERO® Revive could just be the treatment you are looking for. It won’t physically change the features of your face, but will holistically treat your skin by increasing the presence of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin, for an overall skin improvement. BELOTERO® Revive has been developed and is indicated to revitalise the skin which is suffering from early onset sun damage, which accounts for around 90% of external ageing. It also contains one of the most hydrating substances in the polyalcohol family – glycerol. This means it creates a lasting moisturising effect from within, as it promotes water absorption within the skin. After a treatment with BELOTERO® Revive, you will notice your skin is more hydrated, smoother, has more elasticity and firmness.

How many treatments will I need?

For the best, long-lasting results, we recommend three treatments with a four-week interval bweween them. Some people experience results after the first treatment however, the best outcomes are experienced after the third treatment, which is around 8 weeks.

Am I suitable for BELOTERO® Revive?

As with any injectable treatment, we will ask that you attend a no obligation consultation, here at Mirabel Clinic, to ascertain whether you are not only suitable for this treatment, but it will be safe for you to undergo, as there can be some contraindications which can prevent or restrict this treatment from going ahead. Once your practitioner has checked your medical history and discussed the treatment in detail with you, you can go ahead and book your first treatment session.
