Scars are areas of fibrous tissue (fibrosis) that replace normal skin after injury. A scar results from the biological process of wound repair in the skin and other tissues of the body. Thus, scarring is a natural part of the healing process. Whilst some people embrace their scars as part of their individuality, others find them unsightly and can suffer a subsequent loss of confidence.

SkinPen® can be used to very good effect to significantly reduce various types of scarring, predominantly acne scarring.

Resurfx is another treatment modality that is used to treat localised small scars. Resurfx is one of the technologies on our Lumenis M22 laser. It offers fractional non-ablative skin resurfacing and can be targeted for individual scars or small areas.
