Acne and Rosacea

Successful Acne and Rosacea treatments

Acne is a disorder of the sebaceous glands causing pimples and pustules and possible scarring of the skin. Acne tends to affect younger people but can be found in all age groups.

Rosacea more typically affects those over thirty and is a disorder of the blood vessels in the skin causing flushing, persistent redness, pimples, visible blood vessels and, in some cases, skin thickening.

The unique HydraFacial philosophy of Skin Health for Life offers a treatment protocol that is specifically targeted at acne. It helps to improve active acne by reducing the build-up of excess oils and also improve scarring by deeper exfoliation using natural salicylic acid and the application of different strengths of GlySal peel. Improvements can be seen from your first treatment.

Our Lumenis M22 acne specific treatment protocol uses IPL to combat both the active acne and the residue redness and pigmentation. Used on it’s own or combined with HydraFacials it is a powerful treatment. More information can be found here.

Both of these conditions respond well to SkinPen® treatments. This is also particularly good for mild acne scarring. It helps to improve the appearance of facial acne scars, reduce the signs of ageing and improve the skins collagen and elastic reproduction all in one treatment.

Chemical Peels are useful treatments to target both these conditions. The ZO Acne and Oil Control Peel is particularly good as a quick, targeted treatment with no downtime. Ideal for teenage skin.

Treatment with Vbeam can be very successful for rosacea. This is often the most effective treatment and one that people travel from miles away to have at the clinic.
