Facial contouring and volumising

Sculptra ® uses poly-L-lactic acid, which works with your body to help rebuild lost collagen for a more youthful-looking appearance that can last up to two years.

As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra® is different. It works with your body within the deep dermis, rather than topically, to help revitalise collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume. As the Sculptra® PLLA microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production. Rebuilt collagen strands begin gradually helping to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

Sculptra ® works subtly and gradually over time for a more youthful-looking appearance. Unlike hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, Sculptra ® helps stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production to help restore its inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to ageing.  Sculptra ® is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems as a one-time treatment regimen of up to four injection sessions that are scheduled about three weeks apart.

Sculptra ® is administered in a series of injection sessions. On average, three treatment sessions are needed over a few months, Dr Brooks will tailor the sessions to suit your desired outcome. As with any injection, some pain is possible, and topical anesthetic can be used to ease any discomfort. You should not receive treatment if you have an active skin infection or skin inflammation near the planned injection site.

Immediately after each treatment session, you may experience swelling which usually subsides within a few days, and the wrinkles will temporarily reappear as the gradual process of collagen replacement continues. You may begin to see progressive, visible results within the first few weeks after each treatment session or it may take longer. It is important to remember that you won’t see a dramatic improvement immediately after treatment. Sculptra® works subtly, improving facial areas gradually without making it look like you’ve had work done. To achieve full results it is important to attend all appointments in your treatment series.

Since there are so many types of dermal fillers and anti-aging injectables to choose from, it is important that you have an initial consultation with Dr Brooks to make sure you’re choosing the best treatment for the results you want. This will give you the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the treatment options in full. Please contact the Clinic to request a free consultation.
